The GB Hot Rod Deluxe is a 40-watt 1x12" combo. It has the full bottom end characteristic of 6L6 tubes, and a versatile all-tube preamp—including a 12AT7 up front for cleaner tone; especially with humbucking pickups. A 100-watt Jensen speaker and the solid-pine cabinet increases clarity and resonance.  This wonderful amp has clean and "drive/more-drive" channels, Fender spring reverb, an effects loop, and a deluxe padded cover and two-button footswitch.

Effect Pedals - True Bypass vs. Buffered Pedals

New Tube Amps Have Arrived!

The Fender Excelsior and Fender Greta guitar amplifiers we've been waiting for just arrived.  These amps were at our Anniversary Celebration in May and everyone who checked them out was amazed.  We also finally got in our shipment of the Vox Tony Bruno tube amps. I took the Vox Bruno 18 watt for a test drive. All I'll say is . . . "absolutely awesome!" Come down to Avalon Music with your guitar and take 'em for a spin.

Our 20th Anniversary Celebration on Saturday was our biggest event ever.  We had hundreds of customers and friends join us for a lot of fun, good food, terrific deals on gear and - best of all - a ton of free stuff!

Thanks to all who made this day so special for us. Dan and Gary from The Quake 102.5 FM kicked things off with a rockfest in out parking lot and kept us laughing the whole morning.  We've got some special "shout outs" to Mike Madlener from Fender and Mike Smith from Roland and Boss, who spent the day talking to customers about the best musical geat on the planet.  These guys drove from Portalnd/Seattle, showed up early and stayed until almost the very end with a break.  You guys rock!

And a ton of thanks to all our business partners who donated gear for our prize drawings and the Shred Contest - ESP Guitars, Fender, Roland, Yamaha, Line 6, Fishman, Chesbro Music, Godin Guitars, Shure, Aquarian Drumheads, Sabian, C.F. Martin . . . and others that I'm forgetting right now.

So is this a preview of our Anniversary Celebration Guitar Shred Contest????  The SHred Contest is 1:30-ish this Saturday, May 19 during our Anniversary Celebration.  Each contestant gets 60 seconds.  There may be a "shred-off" to declare the winner.  The grand prize is a Line 6 DL4 Delay Pedal,but every contestant will be receive something.  Judges from Fender, Roland and Godin Guitars?  Who knows.
