A Version Of

In November of 2008, a group of five sprouts banded together to form "A Version Of."  After one practice, it was clear this was official- the band was that “next big thing” in their lives.  There were droughts and famines but nothing dried their spirits.  These eager children pushed onward and recorded six songs themselves in their practice room.  Long hours and sleepless nights of recording, editing, mixing, printing, copying, and labeling took place.  Then in May 2009, a self-titled EP was finally released.  Consequently, pulse-wrenching and “sweaty-but-so-worth-it” shows came into place.

A Version Of is all about the live performance. Swinging guitars and microphones, or randomly making up an easy dance is their thing- anything to get the crowd moving as if they were band members.  For this band, shows are not a half hour of gloating or showing off but more a vaudeville.  The quintet plays the soundtrack to a night where you can yell out what you want, how you want it, and know it is heard.  It is their obligation to have you feeling loved and drenched by the end of the set.

Darnell Scott and Desert Blues

Darnell Scott is a one of a kind musician up and coming presence in the world of blues, R&B, and soul. From childhood he enjoyed the music of such blues/rock artists as Jimi Hendrix, War, and Santana. Although Scott has had no formal guitar training, his exciting blend of blues, gospel, R&B and Classic Rock is rooted deep in his soul. His command of the guitar is unique and captivating, and he delivers a song with mesmerizing style and originality. The combination of his experience, influences, and his own expressive style is evident in the way he takes authority of his instrument.

Enhancing the talent of Scott are musicians chosen for their professional command of their instruments, stage presence, and knowledge of dynamics it takes to captivate an audience. Desert Blues provides a healthy dose of driving rhythm, soulful vocal performances, and searing blues guitar. Though accomplished in the studio, they are best savored in live performances.

Fathappy

Founded in 2000, Fathappy has been making inroads around the Northwest with their own brand of up-tempo, intellectual rock.

Fathappy orders up the musical equivalent of a round of Bull Blasters - tunes that go down sweet, and come up funky. An unmitigated flop in butt-rock bars and country music strongholds, Fathappy's adult alternative sound is finding a devoted following of "Fatheads" among those in need of an alternative to being adult.

Fathappy's Third album, "Live at Saint Laurent" has just been released.

Check out Fat Happy at the band's website.

Michael Carlos

Not your usual singer-songwriter act, Michael Carlos writes music that ranges from full-throttle rock, to Latin-influenced music, to acoustic ballads with strings.

The Michael Carlos Band is energetic enough to be at home on large outdoor festival stages, but balances thought-provoking folk-rock with acoustic material fitting a coffeehouse. In between, you’ll find music that defies any attempt to limit it to one genre.

The Last of Mourning Sun

The Last of Mourning Sun is a project based on ideas and concepts spanning over the last 15 years.  The focal point should not be on the artists, but on the art itself, ie. the artwork, sound scapes, lyrics, and arrangements. All elements involved are aimed toward evoking specific evolutionary patterns within the mind; a subliminally charged shift toward a conscience revelation.

Kristopher Miller: Vocals, Guitars, Concepts - Christopher Wilson: Bass, Keys, Producton

Troy Lindsey

Troy Lindsey started playing guitar when he was 14 years old, taking three lessons in the back of a church from a preacher in rural Wyoming, and has had a guitar in his hands ever since.  While growing up his greatest influences were Waylon Jennings and AC/DC, which blended together to give his music its outlaw flavor.

In 1991, Troy joined the Marine Corps and was stationed in Hawaii working in helicopter aviation.  After leaving the Marines in 1997, he continued with helicopter aviation which he does to this day. Troy has traveled the world, met many musicians and seen lots of life, which attribute to the worldly sound in his music.  During his travels he always packs a guitar or adds to his collection from local luthiers he discovers.

In the summer of 2009, Troy released his first album “Out of Time For People Without Time” and currently is working on his next project that will include more vocals from his daughter Kristen McCamey.  A brief description of his music would be “Mindful poetry, acoustically blended with modern sounds, laden with thoughts and emotion.”

You can email Troy or learn more at his website.
